OUR MISSION
To provide and establish a wholesome youth tackle football program that promotes sportsmanship and fair play, where all players get a chance to play each game, and the emphasis is on teaching character, athletic and social skills, sportsmanship, and a healthy attitude. The coaches teach and lead through example, where winning is not the most important objective.

Who We Are
Portland Tackle Football Association Inc., better known as Portland Jr. Raiders, is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that offers youth tackle football and cheerleading programs to fourth through eighth-grade boys and girls living within the Portland Public School District in Portland, MI.
Our History
Originally founded 1982 as T.A.C.K.L.E. Football Association, Inc. by Charles L. Sandborn, Marlene Lefke, and Mary E. Sandborn, today our organization serves roughly 200 area youth each year. We are a member of the Mid-Michigan Pony Football League.
Our Community
While our organization is not affiliated with the Portland Public Schools or the City of Portland Department of Parks and Recreation, we are grateful to have a wonderful working relationship with both of those organizations. We are proud to be operated 100% by dedicated volunteers.
